BPW Nigeria Celebrates International Women's Day with Candle Lighting Ceremony

As part of our commitment to promoting women's empowerment, BPW Nigeria commemorated International Women's Day with a meaningful Candle Lighting Ceremony across our clubs in Lagos, Abuja, and Akure. This revered tradition symbolizes unity, solidarity, and our collective pursuit of women's empowerment.

The ceremony was a powerful reminder of our dedication to empowering women through education and economic opportunities, promoting leadership and mentorship, and fostering a supportive community. As members gathered to light candles, we reaffirmed our commitment to these core values.

Each club's celebration was unique and impactful. In Lagos, our theme was "Creating Wealth through the Value Chain Agriculture," expertly facilitated by Ms. Mosunmola Umoru. This session highlighted innovative approaches to economic empowerment, showcasing the potential for women to drive change in their communities.

In Abuja, our ceremony was themed "BPW Sisterhood," emphasizing the importance of solidarity among members. This theme resonated deeply, as we recognized the strength that comes from supporting one another.

In Akure, we organized a session on "Accelerate Action for All Women and Girls – Rights, Equality, and Empowerment." This discussion focused on collective efforts to drive change, underscoring the need for continued action to achieve true equality.
